Ingredients

  • For Stuffing
  • 1. 1 cup Desiccated coconut

  • 2. 1/2 cup Jaggery

  • For Dough
  • 1. 1 cup Rice Flour

  • 2. 1.5 cup Water

  • 3. 1/4th tsp Salt

  • 4. 1/2 tsp Ghee

Directions

  • For Stuffing
  • Take desiccated coconut and jaggery in a pan and cook till the jaggery melts.
  • For Dough
  • Heat water in a pan, add salt and ghee to it.
  • Then add rice flour and mix properly to avoid lumps.
  • Cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes, when it is mixed properly.
  • Now in a broad vessel, take the dough and knead it to a smooth dough.(if necessary add little water)
  • Now take the Modak mould and insert a small ball of dough and press at the edges keeping a hole for stuffing.
  • Fill the stuffing and close the modak by adding another dough at the bottom.
  • Similarly, make other modaks as well and steam for 10 minutes in a steamer.
  • Pour some ghee on it, after removing it from the steamer.
