- For Stuffing
1. 1 cup Desiccated coconut
2. 1/2 cup Jaggery
- For Dough
1. 1 cup Rice Flour
2. 1.5 cup Water
3. 1/4th tsp Salt
4. 1/2 tsp Ghee
Directions
- For Stuffing
- Take desiccated coconut and jaggery in a pan and cook till the jaggery melts.
- For Dough
- Heat water in a pan, add salt and ghee to it.
- Then add rice flour and mix properly to avoid lumps.
- Cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes, when it is mixed properly.
- Now in a broad vessel, take the dough and knead it to a smooth dough.(if necessary add little water)
- Now take the Modak mould and insert a small ball of dough and press at the edges keeping a hole for stuffing.
- Fill the stuffing and close the modak by adding another dough at the bottom.
- Similarly, make other modaks as well and steam for 10 minutes in a steamer.
- Pour some ghee on it, after removing it from the steamer.
